Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

Arrival at the airport / port and transfer to the Hotel Boomerang.

Day 2: The water

Valverde – Tiñor – La Albarrada – El Garoé – Valverde

13 km, +600 -600, 5 hours

Past, present and future of water on the island of El Hierro … walking from Valverde to San Andrés, passing through the Garoé and its pools, the Valverde forest … until returning to the Capital; in the afternoon visit the coastal town of Tamaduste.

Day 3: " Las Mudadas"

Mirador de La Peña – The Nisdafe Plateau – Jinama trail – Candelaria Church

13 km, -950 +500, 5 hours

A trail of great naturalistic and ethnographic richness, the scene of the traditional moves between the Valle del Golfo and the hamlets of the Azofa region; in the afternoon visit of the smallest hotel in the world in Punta Grande and the tide pools of La Maceta.

Day 4: The Forests

El Morcillo – Cruz de los Reyes – Malpaso – Hoya del Pino

10 km, +500 –500, 4 hours

A hike from the Hoya del Morcillo, passing through the Cruz de Los Reyes and the Malpaso, crossing the Canarian Pine and Fayal Brezal forests; in the afternoon visit to the Ecomuseum of Guinea and Lagartario.

Day 5: The end of the world

Sabinosa – Mirador de Bascos – El Sabinar – Sanctuary of the Virgin

9 km, -150 +880, 4 hours

From Sabinosa to the westernmost village of the island and Spain, passing through the enchanted forest of the Sabinas shaped by the Trade Winds until reaching the Sanctuary of the Virgen de Los Reyes; in the afternoon transfer, views from the Mirador del Julan and a visit to the Interpretation Center of the Letreros.

Day 6: The VOLCANOES

El Pinar – Los Roques – El Tacorón

10 km, +100 -850, 4 hours

A route with a geological focus walking among the volcanic cones that gave rise to the lava flows that form Los Lajiales, one of the most significant natural landscapes of the youngest island of the archipelago and ending in the Tacorón Bay; In the afternoon visit of the Volcanological Interpretation Center.

Day 7: Transfer

Transfer to the airport / port and departure.

Necessary Material

It is recommended to wear suitable clothing (in layers, that is, to protect our body from possible inclement weather and to keep it dry at all times by combining three different types of clothing), comfortable and strong boots, raincoat, fine fleece and / or or thick (depending on the season), hat, backpack, trekking poles, canteen, sunscreen, sunglasses, camera.
